Food, accommodation, and Drinking water For Everest Three Pass trekking:

Food is a big part of the festival. While traveling with Hiker Himalaya Treks, you experience a vast array of Nepali, Chinese, Continental, Italian, and many local cuisines. Breakfast, lunch, and dinner are included in the package. Your guide will suggest delicious, clean, and special food for each place during your trip.

Mountain restaurant owners prefer to order multiple dishes and not waste food because they want to cater to many trekkers with limited food before they get stuck and run. A week or several days of hard labor for porters and caravans to bring food to these places. During this trek you will usually have breakfast and dinner at the same lodge, lunch will be eaten at one of the trailside restaurants en route.

A tea house is a combination of a guest house, restaurant, and social hang-out. Most of the tea houses have private rooms available, except in the higher elevations where it will be just a dormitory. The lodges are quite basic. The rooms are bear with twin beds and very little extra furniture. Blankets are usually provided.

There is a large dining room-cum-lounge, warmed by a Bukhara stove (an iron cylinder, fitted with a chimney duct, in which a fire is lit. Rooms usually do not have electric lights unless there is a water supply in the village. The dining room usually has solar light. Most teahouses now have electricity to charge small devices – mobile phones and cameras – and may charge a small fee.

Hiker Himalaya Treks provides unlimited chlorine/iodine-treated water during the trek. All tea houses have mineral water and boiled water for trekkers at extra cost. We discourage the purchase of mineral water and bottled water while on the trek as plastic bottles are difficult to dispose of and have become an environmental problem.

What Are The Permits Required for The Three passes Trekking?
Like most of the trekking in the Everest Region, trekking in the Three Pass in Everest requires two main permits.
Sagarmatha National Park Entry Permit
Khumbu Rural Municipality Entrance

1. Sagarmatha National Park Entry Permit:
Sagarmatha National Park Entry Permit can be obtained at the Entry Gate in Monjo. You can also get it in Kathmandu from Tourist Service Center situated in Bhriuti Mandap, Kathmandu.
The cost of the Sagarmatha National Park Entry Permit is different for people of different countries.
For Nepalese – Rs. 100 (Nepali) / 0.84 (USD),
For SAARC countries -Rs. 1500 (Nepali) / $12 to $13 (USD),
For Other countries -Rs. 3000 (Nepali) / $24.5 to $26 (USD),
Note: The above cost is per person and costs an additional 13% VAT.

Khumbu Rural Municipality Permit:
Khumbu Rural Municipality Permit can be obtained at Lukla. Unlike, SNP Permit, it can’t be obtained in Kathmandu.
The cost of the permit to Khumbu Rural Municipality is the same for all nationals which is NPR 2000 or $16 to $18. However, the cost is applicable for 4 weeks only. If you decide to visit for more than 4 weeks, you have to pay NPR NPR 2500 which is equal to 20 to 22 USD.
