Panchase Hill hiking is an amazing place to be and to experience its pristine wilderness, around less ventured areas by trekkers. A beautiful country lined with the high rolling green of hills above Pokhara valley and its serene Phewa Lake.

Panchase Hill offers spectacular scenery of dramatic landscapes and high snow-capped peaks in the harmony of tranquil wilderness. The high hills are covered with lush green vegetation and a forest lined with tall rhododendron, magnolia, oaks, pines, and fir trees.

A scenic viewpoint hills not far from beautiful Pokhara city and its serene Phewa Lake, located west of Pokhara valley. A wonderful short adventure where all types of people and age-group can enjoy this marvelous walk to Panchase Hilltop. Panchase Hill hiking, a walk of less than a week without any problem of catching high altitude sickness. As elevation gains at a gradual pace as the trek progress following a high hill mountain path through lovely coniferous forest.

Our marvelous trek starts from lovey Pokhara, a city blessed with natural beauty, situated on the lap of Annapurna Himalaya. Trek to Panchase Hill with various routes to choose from, and one can enjoy a boat ride across Phewa Lake.

After a pleasant ride on a boat climb to Buddhist Peace Stupa, and then walk to Bhumdi village and beyond. The other route is to drive to the western end of the lake to the farm village and then climb towards Panchase Hill. Of all the various options, Hiker Himalaya offers an alternative route, heading south of the valley with a short climb to Bhumdi village. From Bhumdi village faces grand views of the Annapurna Himalaya range, as the walk continues heading west following a high ridge.

As walk progress through the cool shade of lovely forest then reaches Bhanjyang, situated at the bottom of Panchase Hill. The next morning climb a few hours to Panchase Hilltop, the highest spot of the journey at 2,509 m high.

An amazing place offers a spectacular panorama of Dhaulagiri, Annapurna, and Manaslu Himalaya with Ganesh Himal towards the far eastern horizon. Panchase Hill is a vantage point for sunrise also, as well as a holy spot with temples and shrines. Once a year a religious festival is held in August, where all devotees visit this scenic holy place.

After a wonderful adventure to Panchase Hill, the return journey takes you on an alternative route to reach Sarangkot Hill. Another scenic hilltop is famous for sunrise and sunset views over an array of Mid-Western Himalayan peaks. Includes Machhapuchare Himal the famous Fish-Tail peak with the panorama of Pokhara city and the valley with serene Phewa Lake.

Sarangkot is also popular for adventure sports like Para Gliding and Zip Line / Flyer. From this scenic spot, walk downhill to the shore of Lake Phewa and then toward your hotel. On reaching Pokhara, our marvelous adventure completes, after a wonderful experience on Panchase Hill Trekking.

Best Seasons:

Nearly all months of the year, except the monsoon-wet rainy seasons of July and August months.  Best in spring with wildflowers in full bloom and autumn,  from September to November as well in early December.

Trip Itinerary



Morning from Pokhara a short drive south of Pokhara valley on the main highway of Pokhara and Waling / Syangja. After an hour's drive reach our starting point of the trek at a small village called Tado Khola / stream.

From the roadside, a short climb through farm terraces then reaching a ridge where the trail from Pumdi village joins.

A nice walk on stone-paved path past farm areas to Bhumdi, a lovely farm village with grand views of Annapurna Himalayan peaks with majestic Machhapuchare Himal, the Fish-Tail peak. Overnight at Bhumdi simple and basic lodge, with time to explore the village of great cultural interest.



From Bhumdi village, a morning walk leads towards the west following a high ridge into the dense forest of rhododendron, pines, and oaks, as the walk continues with a steep climb for an hour.

From the top of a high ridge downhill to Panchase Bhanjyang a small rural farm village with a few simple lodges for an overnight stop.

Located on the bottom of Panchase Hill, the village offers excellent views of Annapurna and the Manaslu Himalayan range with Pokhara valley and lake Phewa.



Start early morning from the lodge at Bhanjyang, a hike uphill for a few hours climb leads through a beautiful forested area and then reaches on top of Panchase Hill for a spectacular panorama of the world’s three highest mountain ranges. Includes Dhaulagiri in the west with Annapurna towards the north and Manaslu Himal in the eastern direction, facing views as far as Ganesh Himal on the far eastern horizon.

From the top of Panchase enjoy stunning sunrise views and explore this holy spot a place with temples and shrines. After a glorious morning downhill to Panchase Bhanjyang for breakfast and lunch.

Afternoon a short walk of a few hours to Bhadaure village for an overnight stop, a large Gurung village with views of Dhaulagiri and Annapurna South peak.



In the morning after a good breakfast on leaving Bhadaure village, walk through farm areas and small villages, then a short climb to Naudanda a village located on the roadside of Pokhara and Baglung highway. 

This interesting village offers a wonderful panorama of the Annapurna Himalaya range. From here on leaving the main road, head east towards Sarangkot a great walk on a winding wide trail through the large villages of Kaski Kot, populated by Hindu Bharamins and Chettries.

As the walk continues with a gradual short climb to Sarangkot hill for an overnight stop in one of its nice lodges. 

Sarangkot is a scenic viewpoint for sunrise and sunset over an array of snow peaks with a grand panorama of Pokhara valley and the city. A popular touristic spot as well for various adventure sports like Para Gliding and Zip Flyer / Linear.



Early morning enjoy striking sunrise views over a range of Himalayan peaks, have breakfast, a morning walk downhill to the Shore of Phewa Lake, and then back to the hotel at Pokhara near Phewa Lakeside.

Frequently Asked Questions

Panchase hill is at a height of above 2,500 m high, located South West of Pokhara city.

Starting from Pokhara city, several options to choose one can take a boat across Phewa Lake and climb to Peace Stupa and walk to Pumdi and Bhumdi villages, and then reach Panchase Bhanjyang, situated at the base of Panchase Hill. Early morning two climb takes you on top Panchase Hill for a panoramic view of Manaslu, Annapurna, and Dhaulagiri mountain range with stunning sunrise views.

The other route drives west of Phewa Lake and starts trekking to Panchase Bhanjyang and then on top. The next alternative route is a short drive south of Pokhara and then climb towards Bhumdi and then to Panchase Hilltop.

Not a popular trek, where few groups of trekkers seldom visit at all times of the year is the best time of seasons. This route falls within off the beaten tracks, where facilities of good lodges are very few and limited due to fewer people traveling around the area. But at present slowly getting much popular due to its pristine location and beautiful scenery of surrounding landscapes and snow peaks.

Panchase trek is fun where one can trek for a few days or more using the options of various alternative routes. Walking hour is about 4 to 6 hours a day depending upon the starting and ending point of the trek.
