10All Himalayan areas lead to tough walks due to much climb uphill and downhill, but on route to Annapurna base camp, it is not difficult. Where walking hours are average of 5 to 6 hours the most, except for few days that is walking back from Annapurna base camp to Bamboo a long day walk but on down and easy path. The altitude gain will not be a big problem, as elevation rises slowly and gradually, on the start of the trek leads to many steep ups. But in the end, you will find it worth the walk reaching base camp. Slow and steady with short rest will lead to enjoyable walks.
Hiker Himalaya will provide an expert guide who knows the area very well, as well as strong porters to carry the client’s heavier baggage. The guide will be with you through the trek from Pokhara to Pokhara and from the beginning to the end in Kathmandu.
Not in all places, only at places that we have designated as per the itinerary days, but from Ghandruk village onwards. The lodge and guest-house are of simple tourist standard but warm rooms with large dining hall, where toilets and baths will be common due to harsh cold terrain and rough landscapes. All places on the route and at base camp have nice cozy rooms, serving excellent foods as per the choice from the long list of menus.
Depending upon the seriousness of symptoms due to high altitude or AMS (Acute Mountain Sickness). In this case, the client needs to be brought down to a safe altitude, where the victims will recover and then continue as far he/she can cope. But in a critical situation, an emergency evacuation is required to take a helicopter service, which is the quickest way to reach the hospital back in Kathmandu. Where all extra expenses should be borne by the client and can be reimbursed from their travel / medical insurance. At Annapurna Base Camp, very small chances of catching altitude sickness as elevation gains slowly, by the time you reach the highest spot at ABC you will be perfect and fully acclimatized by then.
The most preferable time is in spring from March to May, and the autumn season starts from September till November. Spring time is lovely with longer sun-light hours as well for clear views and walks. Cold in the late afternoon, nights, and morning, can expect snowfall sometimes above 2, 000 m high. Autumn is another best time for the trek, most days are clear and fine for views and treks. But the days are shorter due to sunlight hours can be very cold in the morning and night time, with chances of snowfall sometimes.
