Overview

Annapurna Luxury Trek, Annapurna in part of Base Camp Trekking, is an amazing adventure around the whole Himalayas range where one can complete the trek in a week. The shortest and most scenic walk that takes you from low warm paddy fields to cooler hills. Then ending at the remorseless arctic terrain of ice and glaciers at Annapurna Base Camp, the highest spot of the adventure.

Annapurna Base Camp Trek offers more besides the shortest itinerary days, the only 8, 000 m mountain base camp. Where trekkers can find the comfort of a nice and cozy lodge with a comprehensive food menu, with rooms facing alluring views.

Mt. Annapurna-I is listed as the world's 10th highest peak at 8, 091 m / 26, 545 feet high. The first eight thousand meters mountain was conquered way back in 1950 by French Expeditions, it is one of the most technical and challenging mountains.

Annapurna Base Camp Trek is located within a picturesque sanctuary known as one of the most photogenic spots. Situated on a plateau enclosed by a series of jagged snow mountains, which makes this place is heaven for trekkers. The adventure begins with a short panoramic flight from Kathmandu to land at scenic Pokhara, a charming city.

Placed in a beautiful valley, surrounded by tiers of green hills within the backdrop of Annapurna Himalaya. Where the reflection of snow peaks touches the serene Phewa and Begnas Lakes, making Pokhara a most sought holiday destination. From Pokhara, a few hours of the scenic drive takes you to the foothills of Annapurna Himalaya, where our adventure begins.

The climb leads to a lovely large Gurung village at Ghandruk, where one can feel the cool mountain fresh air. Ghandruk is one of the main villages, a door to various treks and adventures around Annapurna Himalaya and beyond. Gurung, a traditional and cultural village, the hill tribes of the Annapurna region, are interwoven with Buddhism religion.

Enjoying the first overnight in the mountain village, the trek continues heading due north to reach another large village of Chomrong. The main getaway to Annapurna Sanctuary and base camp, as well as the last permanent settlements.

The adventure continues heading down and up within a cool forest of rhododendron and pine trees to reach the Modi River gorge. Where the walk follows the river upstream right up to its glacial source at Annapurna base camp and the highest point. To reach Annapurna base camp, spend a few overnights en route at a simple lodge of Sinuwa Danda and Deurali. The climb takes you to a high ridge at Machhapuchare base camp, located beneath the mountain itself the famous Fish Tail peak.

Annapurna Sanctuary starts where tree lines give away to a short alpine bush and then reach the main highlight. Annapurna base camp is a beautiful spot encircled by an array of peaks with the main Annapurna-I at a close distance. An exciting place, where views of mountains extend towards the far horizon an enjoyable and marvelous country blessed with naturally beautiful scenery.

Spending a wonderful time and adventure at Annapurna base camp, then head downhill back into greens within tall tree lines. The return journey to the end of a walk at a nice hill village Jhinu, a place with a natural hot spring to enjoy. Finally, our remarkable adventure Annapurna Base Trek completes at beautiful Pokhara, a perfect spot to have good times, after a marvelous time around the high Annapurna Himalayas.

Frequently Asked Questions

All Himalayan areas lead to tough walks due to much climb uphill and downhill, but on route to Annapurna base camp, it is not difficult. Where walking hours are average of 5 to 6 hours the most, except for few days that is walking back from Annapurna base camp to Bamboo a long day walk but on down and easy path. The altitude gain will not be a big problem, as elevation rises slowly and gradually, on the start of the trek leads to many steep ups. But in the end, you will find it worth the walk reaching base camp. Slow and steady with short rest will lead to enjoyable walks.

Hiker Himalaya will provide an expert guide who knows the area very well, as well as strong porters to carry the client’s heavier baggage. The guide will be with you through the trek from Pokhara to Pokhara and from the beginning to the end in Kathmandu.

Not in all places, only at places that we have designated as per the itinerary days, but from Ghandruk village onwards. The lodge and guest-house are of simple tourist standard but warm rooms with large dining hall, where toilets and baths will be common due to harsh cold terrain and rough landscapes. All places on the route and at base camp have nice cozy rooms, serving excellent foods as per the choice from the long list of menus.

Depending upon the seriousness of symptoms due to high altitude or AMS (Acute Mountain Sickness). In this case, the client needs to be brought down to a safe altitude, where the victims will recover and then continue as far he/she can cope. But in a critical situation, an emergency evacuation is required to take a helicopter service, which is the quickest way to reach the hospital back in Kathmandu. Where all extra expenses should be borne by the client and can be reimbursed from their travel / medical insurance. At Annapurna Base Camp, very small chances of catching altitude sickness as elevation gains slowly, by the time you reach the highest spot at ABC you will be perfect and fully acclimatized by then.

The most preferable time is in spring from March to May, and the autumn season starts from September till November. Spring time is lovely with longer sun-light hours as well for clear views and walks. Cold in the late afternoon, nights, and morning, can expect snowfall sometimes above 2, 000 m high. Autumn is another best time for the trek, most days are clear and fine for views and treks. But the days are shorter due to sunlight hours can be very cold in the morning and night time, with chances of snowfall sometimes.
