Where altitude gains slowly by the time you reach the highest spot at Annapurna Base Camp, where one will be fully acclimatized. The base camp is just 4, 147m high, situated within picturesque Annapurna Sanctuary, outlined by an array of snow peaks. Certainly a wonderful scenic trek to Annapurna Base Camp, one can enjoy the day exploring lively mountain villages. Annapurna Base Camp Trek starts from Kathmandu after an enjoyable tour of world heritage sites, Newari traditional houses, culture, and places of great interest. From Kathmandu heading towards Nepal Mid-West to reach Pokhara, a beautiful city blessed with natural beauty. Within the backdrop of the high snow mountains of Annapurna and majestic Mt. Machhapuchare, the famous Fish-Tail peak dominates the skyline. Pokhara is also a door to various adventures around Annapurna Himalaya, as well as Mustang and Dhaulagiri Himal.

At Pokhara where our adventure starts and concludes, at the beginning taking a short drive to the foothills of Annapurna Hills. Then walk up to reach Chomrong village walk, inhabited mostly by Gurung the hill tribes of Annapurna Himalayas. Chomrong is a large Gurung village and the getaway to Annapurna Sanctuary, from here with down and more ups towards Modi River gorge. The trail is covered in a thick forest of bamboo, Rhododendron, and pine trees, as the route leads to small settlements and an amazing trip. 

Spending overnights on the wayside lodges like Dovan, and Deurali, then steep climb reach you to Machhapuchare Base Camp and slowly you will walk uphill to reach your dream place Annapurna base camp. A small clearing with few good lodges, situated right beneath towering Mt. Machhapuchare Himal the Fish-Tail peak.

From here into spectacular Annapurna Sanctuary is enclosed within a series of high snow mountain ranges on both sides. A scenic pleasant walk to Annapurna Base Camp, and the highest spot of the adventure with massive Annapurna main peaks above. Enjoy delightful moments facing an incredible panorama of peaks that surrounds the beautiful spot at base camp.

After an enjoyable time return journey on the same route, but with more downhill with few small climbs to Chomrong village. After a wonderful time around the high hills of Annapurna then head back to lovely Pokhara city for the last overnight stop. Next morning on the road to Kathmandu, where our remarkable adventure completes with grand memories of Annapurna Base Camp Trek.

Best time for Annapurna Base Camp Trek:

Annapurna Base Camp can be visited nearly all around the year, except for monsoon wet times which occur from mid-June to early September months.

The rest of the seasons will be good for this wonderful adventure. The best and high season is spring from March to May, days are much longer and sunny till late afternoon times. An enjoyable season for walks and views of mountains, cold in the morning and night time, around higher hills. Around spring the hills are alive with wildflowers in bloom. Can expect snowfall and rains sometimes above 2,000 m high.

The next best season is autumn from mid-September to November, where days are crystal clear, but shorter days with sunlight due to autumn seasons can be cold in the morning and night time.

One can visit during winter times of December to February, most days are clear with fine weather, cold with freezing temperatures above 1,800 m high. Can get snowed in some time, around the Annapurna Sanctuary areas.

How difficult is the trek to Annapurna base camp Trekking?

In terms of the difficulty of this trek ABC, it is very moderate and it does not demand advanced physical fitness levels so anyone can walk and enjoy nature during this trek. Also, those who travel with children can also enjoy this hike. Walking through Annapurna base camp through Ghorepani and walking to Dhumpus allows your body to become accustomed and accustomed to higher altitudes. Also, it helps you to keep your body in good shape and you can physically cope on the basis of aerobic walking in a thin air area.

Visitors with a fit body and previous hiking experience can do this hiking in a short period of time. The highest altitude we reach is 4147 meters above sea level.  Food And Lodges Annapurna base camp Trek:

During our Annapurna base camp trek, we can enjoy authentic Nepali food (Dal, Bhat, curry, pickle, this meal Nepali thali) as well as more common international food (Tibetan, Continental, Italian, Indian, etc.).Breakfast and dinner will be served from the tea houses or lodge menu where we will spend the night and lunch on the way to another destination. All lunches will be provided during the trek, while breakfast will be available only in Kathmandu and Pokhara. There is also a reception and farewell party for the guests.

The cost of your package includes accommodation. Hiker Himalaya Treks takes great care to arrange the most comfortable accommodation possible during your stay. our clients live Three nights in Kathmandu, and two nights in Pokhara in a three-star category hotel before and after heading into the Annapurna base camp trek regions.

During the trek, the nights will be spent in clean and comfortable tea houses with plenty of character and good food. Ordinary rooms usually have two narrow beds. Family-run lodges are a great place to get to know Nepali people. In Nepali culture, guests are considered equal to God, and this has certainly become a reality as the tourism industry has improved its chances of earning a living. You will be very welcome!

Equipment & Packing List for Annapurna base camp Trekking:

This list outlines the required things to bring during the Annapurna Base Camp Trek. The weight limit for your luggage is 15 kg. Remember that your luggage will be carried by our porter. However, you are required to carry a small day- pack with your valuables or anything important. We advise you to pack only what is necessary.

Important Items: Airline tickets; Valid passport; 2 extra passport size photos; Photocopy of your passport; Insurance paper; Dollars, Pounds, or Euros in cash for purchasing a Nepalese visa at Kathmandu airport, for paying at restaurants and hotels, for gratuities, snacks and to purchase your own drinks and gifts; Credit Card (Visa/ Master Card) for withdrawing cash from cash machines if needs.

For Head: Sun Hat; Bandana or head scarf; Headlamp with extra batteries; Sun Glasses with UV protection.

For Upper Body: Shirts (1 half sleeve and 2 long sleeves); Lightweight thermal tops; Fleece Jacket or Wool Sweater; Wind Cheater jacket; Down Jacket

For Lower Body: 1 pair of lightweight thermal bottoms; 1 pair of fleece or woolen trousers; 1 pair of waterproof shell pants and 1 pair of hiking trousers.

For Hands: 1 pair of lightweight wool or fleece gloves and 1 pair of lightweight poly liner gloves.

For Feet: 2 pairs of thin inner socks; 2 pairs of poly or wool socks; 1 pair of Hiking boots (sturdy soles, water-resistant, ankle support); 1 pair of running shoes and/or sandals.

Other Useful Items: 1 sleeping bag (good to -20 degrees C or 28 degrees F); Rucksack and Travel Bags; 1 large duffel bag*; A small daypack/backpack for carrying your valuables; Small padlocks for duffel- bags; 2 large waterproof rucksack covers (optional).

Medical: Your daily taking medicine if any; small personal first aid kit; Aspirin, plasters (band-aids); Sunscreen; lip balms; Anti-diarrhea pills; Anti-headache pills; A cough and/or cold medicine; Anti-altitude sickness pills: Diamox or Acetazolamide; Stomach antibiotic: Ciprofloxacin.

Trip Itinerary

Day 1 : Arrival in Kathmandu 1350m, 20-30 minute:

On reaching Kathmandu via various international airlines, at the airport our guide and staff for a short transfer to the heart of Kathmandu city. Where is your hotel located, after checking into your rooms and then meeting other members of the trip at the hotel lobby for a briefing? Regarding Annapurna base camp Trek, information includes other useful information to make your holiday in Nepal more enjoyable. The evening group welcomes dinner in a lovely Nepalese Restaurant with an introduction to the culture of Nepal with folk dance and music.

Day 2 : Sightseeing around the Kathmandu Valley, 4-5 hrs:

After your morning breakfast, you will be taken for a tour of spiritual attractions around Kathmandu Valley. These historic, religious landmarks are world heritage sites and you'll immerse yourself in the different rituals and the cultural diversity found in the capital.

The Monkey Temple (Swayambhunath), Lord Shiva Temple (Pashupatinath), and Buddhist Shrine (Bouddhanth) are popular destinations where you will find lots of different religious activities and rituals being performed. In the afternoon, you will have an orientation and trip discussion. You should prepare for your trip starting tomorrow.

Day 3 : Kathmandu to Pokhara (823m/2700ft), 6-7 hers:

You will begin your Annapurna Case Camp tour by heading toward the naturally beautiful city of Pokhara. The 7-hour drive will take you from the busy highway and give you panoramic views of the mountain ranges like Mt. Annapurna, Manaslu, Mt. Nilgiri, and Mt. Dhaulagiri from a long distance. The spectacular views of Mt. Fishtail are sure to keep you excited for the entire trek.

Meals: Breakfast in Kathmandu Hotel, Accommodation: Three-star category Hotel in Pokhara, Distance: 200 kilometers from Kathmandu to Pokhara

Day 4 : Towards Nayapul- Matque and trek to Chhomrong (1552 m),6-7 hrs:

On this day you will head from Pokhara to Matque through a two-hour drive. After reaching Matque, you can begin walking towards Jhinu dada and then head towards Chhomrong. You will get the chance to walk past waterfalls, high hills, and villages. Along the way, you will most likely see mules and donkeys, and goats grazing. You will stay overnight at Chhomrong.

Meals: Breakfast, Lunch, and Dinner, Accommodation: Teahouse in Chhomrong, Distance: 58.9 kilometers (Drive, and Walk both Distances)

Day 5 : Chhomrong to Dovan (2580m/8460ft),5-6 hrs:

From Chhomrong, you will be heading towards Dovan today. Since the Annapurna region is the most trekked destination, you are most likely to visit other trekkers there. Along the way, you will find terraced fields and then cross a bridge to arrive at Sinwa Danda which is a hill with a few lodges.

After grasping the wonderful views of the green hills and the snow-covered mountains, you can head further towards Dovan where you will spend your night.

Day 6 : Dovan to Deurali (3230m/10595ft), 4-5 hrs:

On this day you will be heading towards Deurali. Along the way, you will pass through the Hinko Cave and moraines. This is the last place in the area with the tree line. After a short walk, you will see high bushes and shrubs. Stay overnight at Deurali.

Meals: Breakfast, Lunch, and Dinner, Accommodation: Teahouse in Deurali, Distance: 7.7 kilometers 

Day 7 : Towards Annapurna base camp 4130m/13545ft), 4-5hrs:

This day is fascinating since you will be reaching your main destination of the entire trek Annapurna Base Camp. After walking across uphill slopes, you will eventually reach the higher elevation with exquisite views of Annapurna peak.

Explored back in 1956 the area is now dubbed the Sanctuary of Gods due to its mesmerizing close-up views of the mountain ranges. Say overnight at Annapurna Base Camp.

Meals: Breakfast, Lunch, and Dinner, Accommodation: Teahouse in Annapurna Base Camp, Distance: 7.7 kilometers 

Day 8 : Annapurna base camp to Bamboo ( 2310m/7575ft), 5-6 hrs:

After having the best time in the entire trek, you will head towards Bamboo early in the morning. You will take a downhill path to Deurali and further go down the winding trail into a serene forest. Eventually, you will arrive at Bamboo. Stay overnight at Bamboo.

Meals: Breakfast, Lunch, and Dinner, Accommodation: Teahouse in Bamboo, Distance: 17.7 kilometers 

Day 9 : Bamboo to Jhinu Danda (1760m/5770ft), 5-6 hrs:

After breakfast, you will take the same route that you took before and head towards Jhinu Danda. You will first reach Chomrong and from there head towards the Chomrong ridge and downhill to Jhinu Danda. The hill offers a hot spring downhill by the Modi river bank.

when you reach the hotel, after some rest, you move to the natural hot spring and there you can completely feel relaxed and refreshed, Enjoy the hot spring, you take 20 minutes to walk downhill from the hotel.

Day 10 : Jhinu Danda to Kyumi then drive to Pokhara 4 hrs:

After having breakfast, you will take a path that leads to Kyumi when you are arrival in Kyumi after the three-hour drive to Pokhara. Although you might want to take some rest after the trek, there are numerous things you can indulge in Pokhara. You can walk alongside Fewa Lake, enter the pubs and clubs near the lakeside or watch folk music and dance.

Day 11 : Drive to Kathmandu:

On this day, after having breakfast, you will head from Pokhara to Kathmandu. The drive takes almost 7 hours but offers panoramic views of the distant mountains, the beautifully flowing rivers, and the waterfalls all around. After reaching Kathmandu, you can spend the evening resting.

Day 12 : International Departure:
