Overview
Dhulikhel Namobuddha Hiking, a one or two-day hike is a short-day adventure that takes you to the small touristic town of Dhulikhel. It is located at a height of 1550m. It is situated 30 km south-west drive from Kathmandu along the Araniko highway.
The town of Dhulikhel is best known for its historic temples and houses. Different communities of Newar, Brahmin, Tamang, Chhetris, and Dalit reside here. The pilgrimage site of Namo Buddha is about 40km away from the heart of Kathmandu city. It is in Kavre District in the southeast of the valley.
Namobuddha is a very famous old Monastery. The place is very quiet and pure. Its environment is very clean, with no pollution, and the natural air is so fresh, cool, and healthy located on slightly elevated land 1750 M. There is a special Buddhist legend about King Mahasattva offering his body to a hungry tigress at this very place which makes Namo Buddha a holy site for Buddhist people.
Namo Buddha is also famous for growing rice, mustard and millet so you can see beautiful hillside terraced farms throughout the day hike. Dhulikhel Namobuddha day hike is an elegant day hike in Nepal to explore the famous Buddhist sites with a wonderful day hiking experience away from the hustle and bustle of the city. The main attraction of this hike is the panoramic mountain interpretations as well as numerous Buddhist stupas on the summit.
Namo Buddha is also famous for rice, mustard, and millet and also lets you explore the good-looking hillside adjoining farmhouses during the course of the walk would definitely be a great experience for a day hike around Kathmandu even if you just have a day only for the adventure activities in your stay in Nepal.
you will trek down to Panauti, it will take about 2 and a half hrs. On the way to Panauti, you will see local traditional houses. You will enjoy the Newari culture at Panauti. After sightseeing at Panauti, we will drive you back to Kathmandu.
Trip Itinerary
Day 1 : Kathmandu-Dhulikhel-Namobuddha:
From Kathmandu, you go to Dhulikhel by private van. it is 30 km away from Kathmandu through the Araniko Highway. Dhulikhel is a hill station to see the beautiful snow-peaked Himalayas.
Dhulikhel is a small Newari town with old houses and temples. From Dhulikhel to Namobuddha Trek is a 1-day short trek, it takes about 6 hours to reach Namo Buddha.
You will visit the Namobuddha View Point, Namobuddha Monastery, and Namobuddha temples. You will stay at a hotel in Namo buddha.
Day 2 : Namobuddha-panauti-Kathmandu:
After breakfast, you will trek down to Panauti, which will take about 2 and a half hrs. On the way to Panauti, you will see local traditional houses.
You will enjoy the Newari culture at panauti. After sightseeing at penalty, we will drive you back to Kathmandu.
